Kara Welke, OTD, OTR/L, CLT creator of the Next Level Occupational Therapy platform interviews entrepreneur Sydney Saban MSOT, OTR/L who opened an outpatient clinic~ Individualized Quality Therapy, LLC in May 2019 all on her own!  Sydney is also a Mentor for the Next Level Occupational Therapy Visionaries membership group.  Sydney attended Jackson Community College for two years and then transferred to Central Michigan University, where she earned her undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Science with Psychology Major and Human Development Minor). She earned her Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy at Saginaw Valley State University, while being involved in SOTA (Student Occupational Therapy Association) and AOTA (American Occupational Therapy Association). Sydney is now a member of ASHT (American Society of Hand Therapists) and MSHT (Michigan Society of Hand Therapists). Since Sydney has graduated in December 2016, she has started an occupational therapy program for a company in 3 clinics in Southern Michigan, before she decided to open her own practice in May 2019. She enjoys camping, scrap-booking, ATV riding, and spending time with her husband and family. Sydney has a special interest in orthopedics and treating upper extremities, shoulder to fingertip. She plans to become a CHT (Certified Hand therapist) in the near future. She also plans to further her professional education through relationship building opportunities with orthopedic surgeons. Sydney has a passion to assist clients with participation in tasks that are meaningful to them in an orthopedic outpatient setting.
