Difference between slave and son - slave fears master's whip, son fears the father's displeasure. Those who fear the punishment of the sin, are most likely not saved. Those who are genuinely saved, weep because, they have realized they have transgressed the Father's will.

You are still God's darling child, no matter how far, how long you go away from Him.
