  • Willpower Doesn't work - Audio
    Subject line: Willpower doesn’t work
HF, for many of us, wanting to change is not the problem. Whether losing the weight, getting into the right relationship or out of the wrong one, spending too much, or just feeling depressed, change is hard. But it's especially hard when all we have to work with is willpower.
In our new series, we're going to be uncovering some hidden motivations in our hearts that prevent us from being the happy, free people that we and God desire us to be.

  • Who Do I Bother going to church - Audio
Why do I bother going to church?
Hey family, there’s a common misunderstanding that the reason we go to church is to listen to the guy standing up front. He teaches us God’s word, we sing some songs, and then we’re good to go until next week. But the real reason for coming to church is to spend time with God himself, because he takes that time to construct our souls. In every service, we have times of learning about scripture, times of singing, confession, and testimony. Times of eating with one another, serving and being served.
Church attendance leads to a more peaceful life. I want us to get into the habit of experiencing God’s presence in this way. I look forward to seeing you at 10 a.m. this Sunday at 360 Schermerhorn, and please invite a friend who needs a Christian home.
    ANNOUNCEMENTS:
    · Women’s event, Sat. June 22, 1-5 p.m. (includes dinner). Speak to Betsy Mitchell or Sharon Sims for more information.
    · Friday night Bible study—live at 360 Schermerhorn, led by Rob Lambert. 7 p.m.

  • We miss you - Audio
Hey family, there are so many people who say to themselves, “I’ll just skip this one service,” and then they stop attending church for a couple of weeks and even a couple of years. This Sunday is a great opportunity to come back and experience the beauty of being together and growing together with the body of Christ.
When we gather, we’re not just attending a service, God is constructing a soul. Because in our Christian life, just like in on Sundays, there are times when we just need to sit in silence and listen. There are times of singing, confession, testimony, learning from scripture. Times of eating with one another, serving and being served. I look forward to seeing you at 10 a.m. this Sunday at 360 Schermerhorn, and please invite a friend who needs a Christian home.
