Hey Family,
Special guest speaker Pastor Mike Fleishman. When it comes to God, there are certain things that are easy to highlight and celebrate--like how he forgives our sin and how we will be in heaven with him forever. These are wonderful truths from the Bible that we love to hear. However, there are certain truths that we don't like to talk about so much, especially in our culture. One is God's right to judge--and not only that, but his insistence that he will judge. This week, as we continue our study of the Apostles' Creed, we'll talk about how God is going to come again and how he will judge the living and the dead.
This is an unbelievably important message for Christians. We have already been judged in Christ, and the judgment God will bring is for our celebration and joy. But for those who are far from God, he will bring a judgment of punishment. God doesn't turn a blind eye to injustice. He doesn't ignore terrorism, or children being allowed to go hungry, or the mistreatment of the poor. These actions and many others will be judged and addressed, and we can have confidence and even take joy in that truth.
