Featuring: Pastor Lucas Miles

In this teaching from 1 Corinthians 3–4, Pastor Lucas Miles unpacks Paul’s rebuke to the Corinthian church for their spiritual immaturity, pride, and divisions. While many in the church were aligning themselves with different leaders and boasting in human wisdom, Paul reminds them—and us—that the gospel is the only true foundation.

This episode challenges listeners to examine where pride, comparison, or tribalism may be creeping into their faith. Pastor Lucas encourages us not to assume the role of Paul in the story, but instead to humbly consider how we might resemble the Corinthians—immature, distracted, and in need of deeper spiritual growth.

Featuring: Pastor Lucas Miles

In this kickoff to our summer teaching series through 1 Corinthians, Pastor Lucas Miles sets the stage by exploring the wild, influential, and morally complex city of Corinth. Known in ancient times as a cultural and commercial hub, Corinth was also infamous for its immorality—so much so that the term “Corinthian woman” became shorthand for promiscuity.

As Pastor Lucas explains, this wasn’t just a random New Testament letter—it was Paul’s response to a church planted in the middle of chaos. And while the city may be ancient, its challenges feel eerily familiar in today’s cultural climate.
