The United Nations in South Africa says the signing of the National Health Insurance (NHI) Bill into law is a significant milestone in the journey towards universal health care that leaves no one behind. In a statement issued yesterday, the UN said the law ensures that all citizens have access to quality healthcare services, regardless of their socio-economic status through the establishment of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF). Yesterday President Cyril Ramaphosa finally signed into law the National Health Insurance Bill at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
