Eastern AHSN (Academic Health Science Network) is funded by the NHS and the Office for Life Sciences to bring together academia, citizens, health services and industry to realise the value of innovations in the healthcare sector more quickly. We are uniquely placed in the East of England to support health and life sciences research and technology and innovation in healthcare. NHS reservists are members of the public who have signed up to work for the NHS. People currently working as NHS reservists have taken up roles in COVID-19 and flu vaccination programmes, helped to run hospital wards and supported the running of their local NHS services. Personalised care means that patients have more control and choice when it comes to the way their care is planned and delivered, taking into account individual needs, preferences and circumstances. It is a whole system approach that enables a variety of services across the health, social care, public health and community spectrum to be integrated around the individual in order to deliver better outcomes and experiences.

There are many different aspects of personalised care. Shared decision making between clinicians and patients – working collaboratively to reach a decision about treatment that best suits the patient.
