I have two sisters, but they are much older than me.

我有兩個姊姊，不過她們都大我好幾歲。
英語在說「兄弟姊妹」的時候，雖然有區分男女，可是卻沒有意識到年齡的差異。這點和中文不同。在對話中，brothers or sisters之所以會一起出現，也是為了要把男女區 分清楚。哥哥和姊姊的英文是elder brother和elder sister，這在國中就已經學過了。可是在日常的英語會話中，都是說成big brother, big sister，至於弟弟妹妹，則是kid brother, kid sister.
~much older than me.的much，是用來對old的比較級 older 加強語氣的。和它有同樣功能的far，原本是「遠」的意 思;在口語中，也可以用alot:
 
For me, math is far more difficult than English. (對我來說，數學比英文難多了。)
It's a lot colder today than yesterday. (今天比昨天冷多了。)
 
older than me在口語中常常使用，不過，一些喜歡在文法上吹毛求疵的人卻主張older than I和older than I am才是正 確的。
