nic - tunes

This friday, the 3:rd of october Taylor Swift released her album The Life of a Showgirl. On that album there's a song called Father Figure. Here's a cover of that song in Swedish. Just a demo for now as I would like to add some strings or what not and polish the mix.

Fadersgestalt is the name in Swedish...

I challanged myself to make this as I normally don't listen to Taylor...

All rights to the composition belongs to Ms Taylor

a jazzy composition that is a bit slower and mellow and without guitars

Nu Techno in country disco style

just a long repetitative song that is very hypnotizing and you feel owerwhelmed with awe when listening. A place I would like to go to.

I play the sounds heard

drum machine

bass synth

rythm guitar

solo guitar

bass guitar

organ

I do sing through two parallell microphones, one condenser and one dynamic with a VT-4 voice transformer connected for creating the massive vocal sound

the cover art is a photo I took from the kitchen celing a sunny afternoon

Färdig [demo] by nic

a very different song for me to make, it became quiet neat if I may say...

Kom ut ur buren means come out of the cage...

LIstenin g again and I'm really proud of this one. Very light and fluffy in its soundscape...

I challenged myself to do something different. I tried to make a song in techno format but still not. Nic version of the world if You say.

a first release and mix of a new song I made yesterday inspired by a talk on AI from The Beautiful Dark. https://soundcloud.com/thebeautifuldark/artist-pro-feedback-year-1

Truth or a machines desire, that's the question at hand...

It's a bit messy and a lot of things going on. I might reduce the volumes of some elements and release it again sooon.

This song was made entirely without any AI. The closest is the processor in the VT-4 I used on some of the backing vocals.

Stefanie Kisamore and DJ Tubo made a song called In the sunset. Tubo asked me if I wanted to do some addings to the song for a remix he planned to make. I jammed to the song and recorded a bunch of addings, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass and a few vocal addings.

Here's the result after mixmaster Tubo has made his thing.

I'll disappear in the tide

in the sunset I will hide

and my memory will fade into time

and if my sunray should caress your face

think back to different place of me

calm the storm that lives inside

until the tide decides you should leave me

in the sunset, in the sunset i will hide

hide my sorrow, hide my tears in the tide

the rising tide, oooo00

nothing lasts, time moves on

and it moves in me, in every song

a memory born is a memory won

and in the flash i disappear

the sun has set but i'm still here

hide my sorrow, hide my tears in the tide

nothing lasts, time moves on

and it moves in me, in every song

a memory born is a memory won

and in the flash i disappear

the sun has set but i'm still here

still here

This song is very much inspired by the song Nine While Nine by Sisters of Mercy from their album First and last and always from 1985. Some riffs are from that song and the lyrics is a freely translated version in swedish...

I went back in time when the album First and last and always by Sisters of Mercy were the album I played a lot and I remeber thinking then that this album is it. First last and always.

The song Marian is from that album.
