He co-wrote the book Democracy's Meanings: How the Public Understands Democracy and Why it Matters, which informs our discussion today about how we define democracy, how those definitions differ, and how those differences inform our expectation for government and our social contract. We also discuss the future of American democracy and if we have passed the rubicon.
