Making a garden that looks good for a few short weeks in summer, is relatively easy. But making a garden that looks good, and is an enjoyable place to spend time, all year round, is much more of a challenge. And that challenge is made even harder in a small garden, where finding space for all the summer-flowering plants we love is hard enough, let alone fitting in plants for winter interest.
