Nicole Stott - What is it like to go to Space?

Nicole Stott is a veteran of multiple spaceflights and 104 days living and working in space on both the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station (ISS). Highlights of her spaceflight missions include 3 Space Shuttle flights and 2 ISS Expeditions, 1 spacewalk, flying the robotic arm for the first track and capture of the free flying Japanese HTV cargo vehicle, installation and first run on the COLBERT treadmill, and ISS maintenance.  She was the last ISS crew member to return to Earth on a Space Shuttle.

Nicole's 28 year NASA career started at the Kennedy Space Center where she worked as an engineer. Prior to being selected as an Astronaut, Nicole worked for 2 years at the Johnson Space Center as a Flight Simulation Engineer in the NASA Aircraft Operations Division.
 
Nicole was selected as an Astronaut in 2000, as one of 17 members of the 18th group of NASA Astronauts. She earned a BS in Aeronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a MS in Engineering Management, from the University of Central Florida.
