The word intimacy is derived from the Latin word "intimus," which means 'inner' or 'innermost. In most romance languages, the word for intimate refers to a person's innermost qualities. Intimacy allows people to bond with each other on many levels. Therefore, it is a necessary component of healthy relationships

The concept of mental disorder is determined by many factors, including the historical context, cultural influence, level of scientific knowledge and capacity to carry out scientific enquiry, level of education in certain circumstances, as well as many others. In putting together a method of classification of mental disorders, the expert's duty is primarily that of capturing and remaining faithful to the current level of knowledge in the subject, acknowledging that, in a matter of time, some or all the above factors could change to variable degrees, making what was clear as a mental disorder a few decades previously less clear in the next edition of the classification system.

Arguments about money hamper many marriages. When you consider that about a third of adults with partners report that money is a big source of conflict in their relationships, it's no wonder that financial problems are a leading cause of divorce.
What you may not know is that the challenges can actually start even before you say "I do."
When most couples imagine the conflicts they'll have to resolve as a married unit, the subject matter is decidedly mundane. That can include how to decorate a new home, whether or not to get a dog, or something as simple as who gets to sleep on which side of the bed. In reality, a large portion of marital conflicts revolve around something more complicated—money. Three couples tell their stories.
Whether directly or indirectly, a couple's financial situation can affect every part of their life. It's no exaggeration to say that how a couple navigates these issues can determine the entire course of a relationship.
For many couples, debt and different views about money are at the root of many relationship problems. Research has found that couples who had similar amounts of debt had fewer money fights than those with disparate levels of debt.

Civil society groups are threatening Parliament with legal action over the Electoral Amendment Bill, which it is processing.
A group of 22 civil society organisations sent a letter with concerns about the Electoral Amendment Bill to the Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs, questioning whether the bill would be constitutional once enacted, because it went with the minority view of a ministerial advisory committee (MAC) on what form the amendment should take.
The bill is necessitated by an 11 June 2020 Constitutional Court ruling that declared the Electoral Act unconstitutional "to the extent that it requires that adult citizens may be elected to the National Assembly and provincial legislatures only through their membership of political parties".
The apex court then suspended the declaration of unconstitutionality for "24 months to afford Parliament an opportunity to remedy the defect giving rise to the unconstitutionality". However, after Parliament failed to meet the deadline, it extended it for six months.

And World Mental Health Day 2022 on 10 October is a chance to “rekindle our efforts to protect and improve mental health,” says the World Health Organization (WHO)
The COVID-19 pandemic alone caused a 25% increase in the prevalence of anxiety and depression worldwide. It created “a global crisis for mental health,” according to the WHO, while services, skills and funding for mental health “remain in short supply, and fall far below what is needed, especially in low and middle-income countries,” it adds. As well as anxiety and depression caused by the pandemic, the WHO says growing social and economic inequalities, protracted conflicts, violence and public health emergencies affecting whole populations are threatening progress towards improved wellbeing.
