Sexual harassment, a violation of human rights and a form of sex discrimination, is costly to employees in the workplace. Although many countries have legislation governing sexual harassment in the workplace, it remains pervasive and underreported. This is because today, sexual harassment often takes on more subtle forms.

More often than not, where an employee resigns because continued employment has become intolerable to such an extent that the employee has no other alternative but to resign, such employee will claim constructive dismissal.

The reality is, constructive dismissals are notoriously difficult to prove as the onus of proving constructive dismissal rests squarely on the employee referring the dispute as opposed the employer when it comes to dismissal for incapacity and misconduct.

On Tuesday, the high court issued an order by agreement with the SAHPRA, to allow doctors to start ivermectin treatment.

This gave doctors the nod to start ivermectin treatment concurrently with the submission of an article 21 application, in cases where the doctor deems urgent access to ivermectin as crucial for a patient.
