A recent graduate of Dalhousie University's joint MSc Physiotherapy, MSc Rehabilitation Research program. In addition to having completed training in physiotherapy through coursework and clinical practicums, I concurrently completed a master's thesis focused on accelerated motor skill acquisition using action-observation as a motor learning technique. As an entry-level practitioner, my vision is to integrate the experience and skills acquired in both degrees to advance the evidence-based model in the field of physiotherapy and contribute to improved patient outcomes across a wide scope of treatment settings.

Landing in a hospital  emergency room  unable to walk or see properly in 2012, Harold “Hank” Mitchell was ultimately diagnosed with relapsing remitting Multiple Scoliosis in 2014. With lasting effects to his mobility, proprioception and cognition the historical stories and personal experiences of wilderness travel have weaved a way into becoming an indispensable part of his ongoing recovery and regaining his independence. In the winter of 2023, the team made up of Simon-Pierre Goneau and Samuel Lalande-Markon crossed Quebec from south to north, by bike and on skis. A journey of 2725 km carried out in nearly 100 days which lead them to cover in particular the fast ice of Hudson Bay. A remarkable journey and a more remarkable story to match!

David & Leah Jackson live on the north shore of Lake Superior in a small town hemmed by cliffs and water. They work as photographers and storytellers, slowly writing, as well reporting, filling the spaces between pictures. They divide their time, between the land and the lives of people. Fasciated by both, and invariably their hearts drift between each, with one often informing the other.  Having been on a quiet journey for most of their careers, choosing rather to learn and be organic than to pursue what wasn’t brought on by happenstance. This has led them across the north to remote Indigenous communities where they have built lasting relationships, often bonding over the rivers, lakes, and trails that have been Nishnawbe highways for 8,000 years.
