Night of the Filmmusic

The life and films of the German-French actress Romy Schneider (1938-1982) were full of romance and drama. She became known for the Austrian Sissi film trilogy from the 1950s. But her career after that was further broadened and deepened, especially in France. Between 1970 and 1980 she starred in 25 mainly French films. In this podcast music from the soundtracks of 7 of them, by composers such as Philippe Sarde, Ennio Morricone, Georges Delerue.

On 6 June 2020 at the age of 91 Italian composer/conductor Ennio Morricone passed away. Known for film classics such as Once Upon A Time In The West, The Mission, Cinema Paradiso.

But his unmeasurable oeuvre also contains small films, unknown films, failed films, sometimes obscur films that he worked on with the same passion and innovation.

In this podcast we make a time travel through his legacy.

This is a special about the music in the films of Dutch director Paul Verhoeven who lives and works abroad of the Netherlands.

About the international films that he made since 1985. From ‘Flesh + Blood’ to 'Robocop' to ‘Elle’.

Verhoeven worked together with composers such as Jerry Goldsmith, Anne Dudley en Basil Poledouris.
