Ernest Bowers is badly injured in a car accident, but there is a problem. Earnest is a cataleptic. Catalepsy is a disease of the nerves and mind. The physical conditions when a cataleptic has a spell closely resemble death and include the primary stages of rigor mortis. Ernest carries a special medallion informing whoever reads it that he is a cataleptic and although, in the event of an accident, he may appear dead he is isn't and must not be embalmed. He also carries a letter giving instructions as to what must happen. Unfortunately, somebody steals the jacket containing the letter and the medallion as Ernest lays injured. Will Ernest wake up in time or will he be embalmed alive?

In any event the occasion was the tenth reunion and the class of 29 as such occasions demand were all dressed identically in cowboy suits. A good story about a horribly disfigured man who visits a diner every day to bring the owner bad luck. Everything seems to be going well for Mr. Bailey and his diner. He’s just taken on a great new chef and business is booming until one day a man with a face that could haunt your dreams walks in. Unfortunately, the man ends up becoming a regular and slowly the other diners start to stay away as they don’t want the man with the seriously deformed face putting them off their food. One-by-one his customers drop-off until Mr. Bailey has no option but to look at selling-up.

This is a rebroadcast of the original Suspense! Radio Show. Suspense is a radio drama series broadcast on CBS Radio from 1940 through 1962. One of the premier drama programs of the Golden Age of Radio, was subtitled "radio's outstanding theater of thrills" and focused on suspense thriller-type scripts, usually featuring leading Hollywood actors of the era. Approximately 945 episodes were broadcast during its long run, and more than 900 still exist.
Suspense went through several major phases, characterized by different hosts, sponsors, and director/producers. Formula plot devices were followed for all but a handful of episodes: the protagonist was usually a normal person suddenly dropped into a threatening or bizarre situation; solutions were "withheld until the last possible second"; and evildoers were usually punished in the end.
In its early years, the program made only occasional forays into science fiction and fantasy. Notable exceptions include adaptations of Curt Siodmak's Donovan's Brain and H. P. Lovecraft's "The Dunwich Horror", but by the late 1950s, such material was regularly featured. - via Wikipedia
