The story is based in Hammersmith in London. Edward Mummery leads a very ordinary life and considers himself an ordinary person until suddenly in to his life explodes the extraordinary. He has been married to his wife Ethel for six years and he considers her the most brilliant thing that has ever happened to him but now she is very unwell. In a railway carriage on his way to his office he feels unexplainably nauseous and breathless. Then he hears from a fellow passenger that the police are still looking for a woman who poisoned a family in Lincoln. He begins to suspect that his housekeeper is trying to kill them.

Ellie was always the pretty child the favorite and Lydia has given her life to look after Ellie and even the man she loved. Lydia buys a funeral casket and Ellie is afraid that her sister is going to die and leave her alone then after a quarrel Ellie suspects that Lydia has bought the casket because she plans to kill her.

Mr Seaton arrives home with a very large diamond worth over a million dollars and goes to his office. His secretary Iris and employee Harold are outside his office when they hear Seaton scream. When they get in to his office it looks as though someone has tried to kill him but the windows are locked and Mr Seaton was alone inside the room and the diamond is missing. The only other people at the house are the Doctor and Mr Van Outen.

This is a rebroadcast of the original Suspense! Radio Show. Suspense is a radio drama series broadcast on CBS Radio from 1940 through 1962. One of the premier drama programs of the Golden Age of Radio, was subtitled "radio's outstanding theater of thrills" and focused on suspense thriller-type scripts, usually featuring leading Hollywood actors of the era. Approximately 945 episodes were broadcast during its long run, and more than 900 still exist.
Suspense went through several major phases, characterized by different hosts, sponsors, and director/producers. Formula plot devices were followed for all but a handful of episodes: the protagonist was usually a normal person suddenly dropped into a threatening or bizarre situation; solutions were "withheld until the last possible second"; and evildoers were usually punished in the end.
In its early years, the program made only occasional forays into science fiction and fantasy. Notable exceptions include adaptations of Curt Siodmak's Donovan's Brain and H. P. Lovecraft's "The Dunwich Horror", but by the late 1950s, such material was regularly featured. - via Wikipedia
