Yeah, I think it ended up happening for people that would have been out in the Atlantic Ocean. And I think for a good bit of the eastern seaboard, over here, I think most of the East Coast would have seen it. And then

and what kind of what kind of Eclipse was this one? Because it was, it was a different kind than the one that we're gonna have. Like, we're gonna have a total solar eclipse in August. Yeah. But this one was, was this one a total solar eclipse? Well, this

was a this was a lunar eclipse of just the moon, I think is what it was. Yeah. So it's just the moon being on the East Coast is the full moon rose up above the horizo

The Night Sky Podcast | Jupiter And The Chinese New Year

Thanks so much Marina for doing Episode 21 of the night sky podcast with me again today. Hey, thanks, Barry, it was pretty cool. Yeah, so we got a couple of things to talk about. It's been a while since we really discussed a lot of the different changes that have happened with the location, the planets along the ecliptic, and where they are and what what times are going to be up. So we could talk a little bit about that was cool on our last episode, talking more in depth about the intricacies of Venus, I think specifically, and then a little bit of Mars too. But what I was looking at tonight, a dimension where they are, it's like in you know, too, if you look out, if you're in the Northern Hemisphere, you look out toward the west, and then toward the Southwest, up in the sky a little bit, maybe after, I guess, five o'clock or so while it's still in the winter timeline that we've got, you know, while the sun goes down around five o'clock, as we look up into the Southwest, we'll see Venus really bright at the bottom, and then really quite dim now is Mars up above it, which is kind of interesting. Yeah, I think it's really cool. Now being in 2017, finishing up 2016 coming into the second year of doing the podcast, which is kind of fun. Yeah, it's cool. I will do a few more of them this year. But it'll be fun to kind of hang out, chat a little bit and talk more about, about the things that are going on that we see and our observations of stuff going on in the night above us. But it's cool, checking out the sky. And it really appreciated a lot of the stuff that I've learned so far from doing this podcast, listen to the things that I've kind of been inspired to research from it.

The Night Sky Podcast | Dog Days Of Summer

The Night Sky Podcast | Observing The Galactic Center

I want to say thanks to everybody who's tuning in once again to listen to us talk a little bit about the events that are going to be happening in the night sky above us for the second or excuse me, the third and fourth week of July, in 2016. So now it's a little bit past for now. It's a waning gibbous moon. And that's great, because it's going to be coming up later and later into the evening. And so I think like, what would it be for? If we're looking for dark skies and the southern sky, or you know, like, in our viewing area for the evening, it's going to be great

The Night Sky Podcast | Hesperus And The Summer Triangle

And we're really happy to be back again, this week, one more time to do a little bit of a rundown of the news. And some of the cool observations that we've been making of the night sky. The summer sky right now here in July, in the Northern Hemisphere has been really cool. There's a lot of stuff going on. It's just always good observation, weather, right? Like we get to go out every night, we can see more stuff. And the Milky Way's making it up pretty high in the sky now. So that's pretty cool to get to go out and see every night, but there's a lot of cool stuff like in the south sky, with Sagittarius Scorpio and the planets that are out. So it's been cool just to go out and kind of see the progression night over night. A lot of fun doing that with you.
