For decades, women were the ones going to beauty and nail salons, trawling anti-ageing product shelves and heading to aesthetic doctors for injectable. In contrast, men tended to shun the sunscreen, use the same bar of soap for face, body and hair, and not put up a tough fight against the ageing clock.
Nowadays though, it’s common to sit alongside a man at the nail salon for a pedi, watch him walk out an aesthetic clinic, and fight for bathroom shelf space as his interest in skincare grows.
The beauty and aesthetics industry has changed, and no longer are we labelling men who invest in their looks “metrosexual”. Rather, they’re just “normal” guys who are proactive and want to put their best face – and body – forward.
