  • 008: The Secret to Blogging Success No One is Telling You [Ryan Biddulph]

#008 In this episode, Nick chats with Ryan Biddulph about the success he has had running his blog, Blogging From Paradise.

Ryan has been blogging for just over a decade and has amassed a very large following on social media and many readers that come to his blog each month for advice.

What has been the cause behind all his success?

    1. Mindset
    2. Relationship building.

Ryan is very mindset driven and this is something he focuses on and talks about quite a bit in this episode. From meditating to practicing Kriya Yoga (Don't feel embarrassed if you don't know what that is. I had to look it up), Ryan is constantly trying to improve his mindset and feels his ability to do so has greatly contributed to his success as a blogger.

Much like the conversations had with PJ Sorbo back in episode 7, Ryan also believes that one of the biggest contributing factors to his success has been his ability to build relationships with his readers, as opposed to tactics and hacks for "gaming the system."

  • 005: Working for a Startup, Selling, and Being Human [Chris Bro]

#005 In this episode I chat with Chris Bro, owner of All Things Next and Customer Experience Manager at Lately. We talk about many different topics in this episode including music, sports, social media, and the main purpose of this episode, working for a startup company.

Chris has been working for Lately, which is a startup that has been on the market for the last 2-3 years. Lately uses AI to automatically pull text from your blog posts and audio/video transcripts to help you create social media posts that can be scheduled across multiple platforms.

We talk about the struggles of working for a startup and the constant pains of being shut down and told "no," even when you know you're onto something great. "Team" is a constant theme throughout the episode as Chris talks about how important having that core team is, especially when you are just ready to quit and hang it all up.

In this episode with Chris, we also talk about growing a presence on social media and how this success will not come overnight. "If you want to be the best new band at the Grammys, it's going to take you 2, 3, 4, 5 years to get there."

  • 003: Overcoming the Fear of Getting Started: How Kelsey Managed to Do It! [Kelsey Rehome]

#003 I had the opportunity to chat with Kelsey Rehome who is a mental health counselor and therapist. From early on, she was told that starting her own private practice was for much later in her career. That hasn't stopped her from getting started now.

Kelsey works her 9-5 job as a counselor and therapist while working to get enough hours to take her private practice full-time.

    • Overcoming imposter syndrome and the fear of getting started
