A report just issued by the privacy watchdog and the Independent Police Conduct Authority has found police are routinely and illegally photographing and videoing children and adults. That's just one of the findings in the bombshell joint inquiry that has revealed systemic problems with the way police take, store and use people's private biometric information. Auckland's once iconic food truck, The White Lady, which has served late night takeaways to generations of party-goers, students and midnight walkers has been granted a 12 month reprieve.The late night burger joint which has been going for more than 70 years has been under an cloud since April when Auckland City reviewed its licence and reduced its trading licence to just six weeks. What effect does exercise have on the body while pregnant? A new Auckland study needs 200 recruits to help find out. The AUT study will look how pregnancy changes the body, and how much exercise is safe to do during pregnancy with the ultimate aim of helping make pregnancy safer for mother and baby. The project is called Te Kukunetanga Physical Evolution through Pregnancy - and while it had good numbers around the middle of last year, Auckland's long lockdown meant those mothers have now had their babies so the team is looking for more people to take part. Kathryn speaks with bio-mechanic lead on the project, Dr Hannah Wyatt, and Sabina Just, who's been a midwife for 25 years and is now doing a PhD. The Minister of Transport is proposing to amend land transport rules and the Local Government Act so councils can more easily transform streets to support public transport and more active forms of travel. The legislative changes under the Reshaping Streets programme will allow local councils to pilot changes to street layouts for up to two years as a form of consultation. It's hoped that it will accelerate projects such as creating bike lanes, pedestrian zones, and better transport infrastructure, as well as reducing speed limits and restricting traffic. It's part of a wider initiative to meet emissions reduction targets, including reducing car trips by 20 percent by 2035. Kathryn speaks to Minister of Transport Michael Wood.
