Jesus Christ is the only one who has ever come down from heaven, offered eternal life, and promised to raise us from the dead on the last day. Our love for superhero stories, heroes who descend from above to save those who cannot save themselves, points to something deeply wired into us. We were made for this story, and the real version of it is found in Jesus. In John 6, Jesus makes bold and shocking claims about His identity, His origin, and His power over death. Many who heard Him were offended and walked away. But Peter's response cuts through all the confusion: there is nowhere else to go. No other teacher, religion, or philosophy has the power to pull anyone out of the grave. Jesus alone has the words of eternal life.

Jesus once asked a paralyzed man a question that sounds almost too simple: Would you like to get well? The man had been unable to walk for 38 years, and instead of saying yes, he explained all the reasons healing was impossible for him. That response sounds familiar because many people today are doing the same thing, listing their limitations instead of recognizing who is asking the question. Jesus did not offer a complicated process. He simply told the man to stand up, pick up his mat, and walk, and instantly, 38 years of paralysis ended. The same question Jesus asked that man is still being asked today. It is not just about physical healing. It is about spiritual surrender, turning away from living as your own master, and crossing over from death into life. The challenge is the same now as it was then: stand up, pick up your mat, and take a step of obedience toward the One who is asking.

Death is the one reality none of us can escape, yet most people spend their entire lives avoiding the subject. The Bible teaches that death did not originate with God but with Satan, whose lie in the Garden separated humanity from the source of life. Jesus became flesh specifically so He could die and, by dying, break the power Satan held over death. Because He rose from the grave, He now holds the keys to death and the grave, and He offers freedom from its power to anyone who believes. For followers of Christ, death is not a fade to black but an immediate transition into the presence of God. The question worth sitting with is not whether your soul will exist forever, because it will. The only question is where.

Real faith is not passive or comfortable. It is audacious, bold, and willing to trust God even when every circumstance says otherwise. Abraham believed God's promise of countless descendants at 99 years old, and God counted that belief as righteousness. Mary believed the angel's word that she would carry the Son of God, and Elizabeth declared her blessed simply because she believed. The same pattern runs through all of Scripture: receive God's Word, believe it, and obey it. Faith and obedience are not separate things. They are two sides of the same coin. The covenant promises God made to Abraham belong to everyone who shares Abraham's faith, and that includes you today.

Most people spend their lives chasing things without ever asking what life is actually for. According to 1 Thessalonians 4, the purpose of life is to live in a way that pleases God. This includes pursuing holiness, loving other believers more and more, and serving others beyond yourself. God's design for human sexuality is part of that holiness, and sexual sin pulls a person away from God rather than toward Him. The road to eternal life is narrow, and few find it because most people are chasing everything but God. Staying inside God's guardrails does not save you, but walking with the One who has never left them does. If you find yourself outside those guardrails, the answer is simple: come back. He is on the inside, waiting.

Prayer is one of the most important yet most neglected parts of the Christian life. Jesus gave His disciples a clear framework for prayer in Matthew 6, not as a script to repeat, but as a template to follow. The Lord's Prayer covers six key areas: worship, welcoming God's kingdom, surrendering to His will, bringing real needs, confessing and forgiving, and asking for protection from temptation. Starting with worship before requests changes the posture of your heart entirely. Private prayer matters deeply, and even Jesus regularly withdrew from crowds to spend uninterrupted time with the Father. God is not a vending machine, He is a Father who desires honest, daily conversation with His children. You are not interrupting God when you pray. You are His child, and He is waiting to hear from you.
