Nisha Deshar is a celebrated Newari vocalist whose rich, emotive voice has breathed new life into Nepal Bhasa music for over two decades. A diploma-holder from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, she burst onto the scene in 2001 with her debut Nepal Bhasa recording and has since released acclaimed albums—*Lokarpan*, *Nisha* and *Sharab*—that showcase her mastery of ghazals and traditional Newar melodies. Born in Chapagaun, Lalitpur, she has garnered prestigious honors including the Image Award, Bindabasini Award and Rapati National Ghazal Award, all while passionately preserving and promoting Newar culture.
