Guitar talk, lava lamps, and some acapella singing get the show started this week, as the boys talk some nonsense before diving into last week's crazy rollercoaster in the NL East. Sam wastes no time antagonizing Brandon for the Mets' disappointing performance, and Brandon lays out what exactly went wrong and what the rest of the year may look like for the team in New York. Afterwards, the Phillies get the credit they deserve for their red hot performance over the last two series and the question is asked if they could potentially win the series themselves. Finally, the boys give the Braves a little credit, tell some 60 second stories, and preview the upcoming series in the division.

In the first post trade deadline episode, the boys get right into the nonsense with some Jared Leto cult talk, character acting discussion, and general banter. After the usual rubbish, the deadline discourse finally begins. They dive right into the Nationals' fire sale, the Marte trade and what the Braves are going to do with all of their new outfielders. Once all the actual baseball talk is out of the way, the classic segments begin with deGrom of deWeek, 60 second stories, Feast or Famine, and more. Finally, some wishful thinking about reviews and emails before the final send off.

This week's episode wastes no time getting into the nonsense as the talk turns to which documentaries were watched this weekend, some late birthday gifts, and the American Pie Blink-182 cameo. After all that, the boys turn their attention to their favorite Brave, Freddie Freeman. This leads to some good ol' dad talk, which turns into talk about another NL East first baseman, Pete Alonso. Eventually they get to potential trade moves in the division as the deadline approaches, who exactly may leave the Nationals, and wrap up with the usual segments.

The boys got their second guest! The wonderful and talented Aram Leighton joins the show to talk all things MLB Draft. He explains the concept behind modern draft strategy, talks about the best NL East draft classes, and digs into whether best player available is actually what teams want to do. Unfortunately, due to some technical issues, the interview is cut short but that just means he'll have to come back again ASAP. After all the draft talk, the conversation steers a little bit away from baseball and towards Tim Burton, celebrity sightings, and some old war stories from the stand up comedy days. Finally, the boys wrap everything up with deGrom of deWeek, a 5 star podcast review, and their classic goodbyes.

Avoiding baseball talk at the top as the boys always do, they first talk about visiting the doctor, Brandon's tipping etiquette, and how many movies Sam did or didn't see. Then, out of the middle of nowhere, a strange guest calls into the show... After that, the conversation turns somber as they discuss Ronald Acuna's injury, the Twitter drama that ensued, and what the Braves' future looks like. Leaving the sad stuff behind, the boys take a look at the standings to check in on the division before doing their best to talk draft. Finally, the show wraps up with the usual segments, deGrom of deWeek, Feast or Famine, and a couple very interesting 60 Second Stories.

An incredibly exciting first guest joins the boys on today's episode, Jeremy Taché! Jeremy comes on to talk everything Miami Marlins including Starling Marte's contract extension, the similarities between the mid 2010's Seattle Seahawks and the Miami Marlins, and his secret weapon as a high school pitcher. After all that, Jeremy floats a potential Marlins trade piece that's rarely discussed before diving into what makes Bo Burnham so great. Finally, the boys bring it home with the regular segments before shouting out our friends on Feature Future Fans and reading our very first email! A lot of firsts on this episode of the podcast, we hope you enjoy.

This episode gets a little less self-reflective than the last one. With all the audio quality fixes in place, the boys open up with some usual nonsense including but not limited to Sam's camping weekend, European soccer fans, and Brandon's trip to the Cubs Dodgers game. After the opening tangents, the subject turns to the Mets Phillies series, how the defensive errors could prevent Philadelphia from being a real competitor, and the Mets offensive struggles of late. The attention then turns to the treatment of minor league ball players, citing the graphic that @MiLBAdvocates posted on Twitter comparing the way the Mets and Phillies treat their minor league players. With all their topics out of the way, the boys wrap up with the usual segments deGrom of deWeek, 60 Second Stories, and Feast or Famine before debuting their latest segment Featuring Future Fans.

After the classic once-a-month audio troubles got (kind of?) sorted out, your favorite boys got straight into the nonsense today with some discussion on awkward interactions on company holidays, doing improv for co-workers, and which NL East fans like Marvel movies the most. Once the classic nonsense wrapped up, the conversation moved towards the Washington Nationals and their incredible hot streak over the last 10 games. Friend of the podcast Drew wrote in to give us a bit of a recap before the boys moved on to the tight race for 2nd place in the NL East, the Phillies latest injury bug, and all your favorite NL (f)East segments. Fair warning, this one got a bit off track.

In what can only be described as the most hectic episode of NL (f)East to date, Sam runs straight off the streets of NYC and in front of a microphone to tell about his success in softball, subway troubles, and feeling like a movie. After the usual opening nonsense, Brandon addresses Pete Alonso's conspiracy theory on the dead ball era and Sam talks about what it's like being at a baseball game again. The conversation then turns to the Mets Padres series, if the Marlins may have turned a corner again, and how satisfying it was to see the Phillies crush the Yankees. Finally, a very rushed run through of the usual segments before Brandon has to leave for guitar lessons.

The last morning zoo episode for quite some time, the boys get into some non-baseball talk right off the top as usual before diving into the Braves Dodgers NLCS rematch, the sticky stuff drama in MLB, and if Trevor Bauer is a liar or not. Then Brandon gets some sweet revenge and rubs dirt into Sam's open Marlins wounds as they discuss the Fish losing 9 of their last 10 games. Finally, they wrap up by revisiting the Mets Padres series that ended in a split, and what it means for the future of the Mets. And of course no episode of NL (f)East is complete without Feast or Famine, 60 Second Stories, and deGrom of deWeek.
