Jesus knows that this is His last moment with them, He knew the power God had given Him, He knew that Judas would betray Him, and He knew the hearts of the Disciples. And He asks us to pass this posture of service on to others. To be at the service of God is to be at the service of others. We can never be too big for the small messes otherwise we become too small for the big things God wants to do in our lives. The practice of being a servant please God, fulfills our calling and brings blessing and happiness to our lives. So what are you going to do with the towel?

Pastor Seth opens up a new series this morning titled “Lost” focused on increasing our awareness of those who are lost as we lead up to Easter. Today, Pastor Seth teaches us about “Familiarity.” The truth is, we can be close to Jesus and be closed off to Jesus at the same time. When Jesus returns to his hometown of Nazareth, we can see how familiarity can breed spiritual complacency and diminish faith. Proximity to Jesus does not automatically equate to intimacy with Him. Familiarity reduces our awe, blinds us with pride, allows us to replace pursuit with routine, and numbs us with complacency. Thankfully…the solution is WONDER, the remedy to our familiarity is Wonder…to turn and repent! Jesus is ready and available for you at all times!

We are called to judge rightly—with humility, self-examination, and a heart for restoration—rather than with pride, harshness, or hypocrisy. Before addressing the “speck” in someone else’s eye, we must first confront the “plank” in our own by fixing our eyes on Jesus. The goal is not condemnation but rescue, not courtroom verdicts but hospital healing—reflecting Christ, who came full of grace and truth to save, not to condemn.
