It's Monday, October 10th, 2022. I'm Thomas Dahm, editor of Neon Moiré.
Welcome to Editors picks, where we highlight three design events that take place this week.
First, we have SmashingConf in New York. SmashingConf is a 2-day single-track web design and development conference, starting October 10th. Next to the conference, there are two days of hands-on workshops where you can learn new practical skills. Can't make it to the in-person event? Online tickets are available. In our last newsletter, you find a 25% discount link.
Second is Black Tech Fest. Starting October 11th, the three-day in-person and online experience brings together leaders, creators, and change-makers to create access and opportunity for black talent. Situated in London, during Black History Month, the festival welcomes over 5,000 professionals from across the ecosystem. With headliners like Stephen Barrett, Michelle Williams, and Patricia Bright to name a few.
Lastly, is the inaugural experimental type festival Inscript! From October 12 through 16, Inscript takes place online and explores the overlap of typography and experimental tech. Including topics like artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, creative coding, and innovative use of traditional craft. Presenters include Underware, Dia Studio, Tina Touli, and many more.
Shoutout
Special shoutout to NO/BS. The award-winning creative conference returns to Melbourne on October 26 and 27. Use promo code NEONMOIRE to get 15% off your ticket.
