"Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air?
Can't live, can't breathe with no air."
Last week, the European Union Court of Justice ruled that the United Kingdom breached the Air Quality and Cleaner Air Directive n.º 2008/50/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council. As its name implies, this directive gave Member States several goals, up to 2020, in order to protect and enhance the air quality and human health, among these article 13(1) which establishes that Member States have to ensure that “levels of sulphur dioxide, Particulate Matter, lead, and carbon monoxide in ambient air do not exceed the limit values laid down in Annex XI.” And apparently the UK failed.
Other news:
- Supreme Federal Court annulled criminal convictions of the former President of Brasil;
- Several legal changes: In Switzerland, Hong Kong and Germany;
- We like to keep you updated: Again, we have a lot of updating to do.
