Have you ever been so overwhelmed by something big, that you never even take the first step? Or maybe you waited way longer than necessary to get started?
That is how I felt before ever buying my first house. It all seemed too complex and impossible to even approach. The truth is, buying a house or refinancing a mortgage is a big and complex process, but I have learned that working with the right people makes it feel simple. That is where today's guest Dylan Tucker comes in. Working with people that understand the complexities of things like the mortgage application process is key to keeping your sanity and also getting the most desirable results.
This truth goes beyond just mortgages. If there is something big we need to do, but many people need to do it, then I guarantee there are resources out there to guide you through it. So get started! Move forward with confidence! You can do it!
Dylan is my personal Loan Officer/broker. Today we talk about how to prepare and approach the mortgage loan pre-approval and application process for first-time home buyers, or those looking to refinance. You can learn more about Dylan at https://www.communitylendinggroup.com/our-team/dylan-tucker/ or you can email him at [email protected]. I hope you enjoy the episode!

We don't have to look far to find lessons in the world around us.
My guest Kurtis Hanni specifically finds financial lessons in the world around him. In his podcast "Delve Into Money", he specifically reads non-financial books and finds ways to apply the lessons learned to money and finances. We had such a great conversation around what it takes to set ourselves up for success and how to not get discouraged when we inevitably make mistakes (because mistakes are truly bound to happen). I really love his perspective on life and how he thinks and talks about these important principles. I know you are gonna enjoy it!
Learn more about Kurtis and his podcast by visiting delveintomoney.com
Two books he brings up are "The Psycology of Money" by Morgan Housel and "Tiny Habits" by BJ Fogg

My guest today is the highly inspiring Howard Dekkers! Howard is the founder of the Howard Dekkers School of Success which can be found by visiting www.HowardDekkers.com. Howard is currently traveling the country in his RV with the sole purpose of spreading education about how to become financially free.
He didn't start really focusing on building wealth until he was in his late 30s. If you have listened to very many of my episodes, you probably know why that caught my attention! He has come up with a system that just works. You don't have to own your own business or make a huge salary to retire with wealth and live your best life. It really comes down to understanding how investing works, making a plan, and executing on it. That is where Howard's course comes in. He has broken down a path to understanding and building a plan. You can learn more about his message and even try his free 30-minute intro course at his website. Let's get moving! I hope you enjoy the interview. I know I did!

I found myself explaining the concept of investing and passive income to my 8-year-old as a way to get him excited to do his jobs to earn money towards his "payday" on Saturday.
He doesn't feel the need to do his jobs since he already has some money. I'm trying to help him understand that if he keeps drinking water from a cup without adding more water, it will eventually be an empty cup. I then tried to help him understand the idea of making more than we spend so our money is growing rather than shrinking. That of course leads to the idea of taking our excess and investing it and having it grow while we sleep. I compared each of his invested dollars as being individual workers that are building more money for him. He then asked me how many "workers" he has in the stock market. He then wanted to know how many I have. I gave him a general answer of "thousands" compared to his roughly 200 workers to give him an idea of the possibilities. This may not have made a dent in his 8-year-old brain, but it sure got ME excited to get more dollar bills employed in the labor of makine me more passive income! I need to start taking more action and executing some of the ideas I have been thinking about! Let's get those dollars working for us!

This episode came at a very good time for me. I recorded it back in June and as I edited it today I realized how much I needed to hear what my guest Ron Aguilar (from Utah Valley Videos) had to say about building a business and also what to do when you find yourself burning the candle at both ends. I have been feeling very overwhelmed with all the things I have been taking on and have been reassessing my life and looking to establish more balance. Do I want to keep my side business going? Do I want to keep doing this podcast? All of these things are good things, but I'm questioning if trying to do it all is starting to catch up and affect my life in ways that I'm not super happy with. Ron is so awesome, and an inspiration. I hope you enjoy the conversation!
Today's guest is Jeremy Nicolaides. I have been excited about his episode ever since I recorded it! Jeremy is the founder of www.goldenoctopillar.com where he helps people become free financially and find more happiness by building passive income streams. You do not have to wait until you retire before you have wealth and freedom! Our time is the most valuable thing we have, so why not spend as much of it doing the things you love and bring you the most purpose and joy? Find your right path and find more meaning and happiness. I hope you enjoy this conversation!
We also talk about the book "The One Thing" by Gary Keller which is a great book that I am currently in the middle of. That can be found on Amazon HERE

Today's guest is Jason Baller the co-host of the Sprinkled with Hope podcast. Today we discuss the things he has learned from his guests in the 100+ episodes they have recorded over the past year or so. He has noticed some recurring themes and truths that have come up across all those interviews. He has noticed that success is often tied to a person's ability to be humble and grateful. Being humble enough to ask for help in improving and then showing gratitude for the help we receive really goes a long way.
Jason is also now offering two separate courses on their podcast's website. you can learn more by going to: https://sprinkledwithhope.com/training-courses
I hope you enjoy the conversation. I know I did!

My guest today is Kaulana Shum, someone that I have known since the Summer of 2004. He has made quite a name for himself in software sales and sales leadership. He tells his story of taking risks and pivoting throughout his life and career. He has bought homes in various cities and states as his work has moved him to new locations. He has learned things along the way. Things have gone his way, and some mistakes were made, but the learning never stopped. Everything we experience, but particularly failure, is an opportunity for learning and growth! I know you will like this one!

Today's guest is the amazing Betsy Jorgensen! She discusses the things she has learned as she has made her way upwards in various large companies during her career so far. She has found herself doing things she did not originally expect like managing people and negotiating contracts with vendors.
Even if you do not see yourself staying where you are, or even doing what you are doing forever, it's still important to learn how to make the most of your opportunities, especially when negotiating starting salaries and raises. Understanding how things work behind the scenes at companies in general, and learning how things work at your current company is very important to not leaving anything on the table when the time comes to negotiate.
