Welcome to Episode #42 of the No Conference for Old Men Podcast.

Our Houston Cougars are now 18-4 & 10-1 in the XII, but still tied for 1st in the conference, after a tough OT loss at home to Texas Tech in a strange game where there was a double ejection less than 5 minutes into the game.  But turned around with a "just win & move on" triumph in beating a motivated Oklahoma St team without key players in Sharp & Francis.  There is no rest for the weary as Houston will continue to be tested this week with a visit to Colorado followed by another Big Monday showdown with heated rival Baylor at home.  The  3 Old Men review the 2 games played & preview the upcoming games this week, and respond to the many Cougar fans that are "freaking out" after the loss at home to Tech.

Welcome to Episode #41 of the No Conference for Old Men Podcast.

Our Houston Cougars are now 17-3 & 9-0 in the XII, after beating Kansas at the Phog in what many college hoops pundits have called "the best game of the season" regardless of what any  future game brings us.   Oh and Houston also turned around with a workman-like effort in beating a pesky WVU team 4 days later as well.  Houston will continue to be tested this week with a visit from #22 Texas Tech on Sat & Oklahoma State Tue.  2 of the 3 Old Men review the 2 games played & preview the upcoming games this week, with special attention paid to the epic win in Lawrence.

Welcome to Episode #40 of the No Conference for Old Men Podcast.

Our Houston Cougars are now 15-3, 7-0 in the XII, & now in sole possession of 1st in the conference standings after squeaking by UCF & then turning around to completely dismantle Utah.   Houston will be stepping up in competition this week with visits to both Kansas & WVU.  The 3 Old Men review the 2 games played & preview the upcoming games this week + an added discussion on the "State of the Big 12" 7 conference games in.  Are the 3 old guys surprised Houston's alone atop the conference standings?  And what about fans stating it isn't that impressive this year given the perceived weakness of the Big 12 this season?

Welcome to Episode #37 of the No Conference for Old Men Podcast.

Apologies up front, with the slight technical challenges faced by one of the old men that impacted part of the game preview segment (we'll let you guess who that was).  But our Houston Cougars are now 9-3 after smothering Oklahoma St in their XII opener.  Now we hit our 1st Sat/Big Mon pair of games in week 2 of Conference play, facing BYU Sat & TCU on Mon.  These almost back-to-back games in the Big 12 are a particular grind for all teams involved.  So the Old Men preview the games, but will then pivot to tackle the question of the week:  "Conference Record Needed for UH to Win the Big 12"?

Please have a listen as the 3 Old Men weigh in and discuss the topic of the week, as well as provide some quick-hit game summaries and previews.

Welcome to Episode #36 of the No Conference for Old Men Podcast.

Our Houston Cougars are 8-3 after 2 thorough beat downs of Toledo & Texas A&M-CC.  Now with pre-conference games completed, we have a much better sense of every team's identity heading into Big 12 Conference play.  And Oklahoma St is 1st up on the schedule for the Cougars.  So the Old Men will preview the game, but will also tackle the question of the week:  "Is the Big 12 still the #1 Conference in the Land"?  Lots of chatter on Twitter around this topic, & the Old Men try to separate fact from potential media bias.

Please have a listen as the 3 Old Men weigh in and discuss the topic of the week, as well as provide some quick-hit game summaries and previews.

Welcome to Episode #35 of the No Conference for Old Men Podcast.

Our Houston Cougars are 6-3 after a tough week of practice post-Vegas trip, with 2 thorough destructions of Butler in the XII/Big East Challenge and Troy.  A Toledo team is up next, but the question of the week is "Is this iteration of the Houston Cougars Men's Basketball team still a legitimate National Title Contender 6 weeks into the season"?  The reason this question was posed was because of the slew of social media postings this week stating that every National Champion since 2004 has been in the top 12 of the week 6 AP Poll.

Please have a listen as the 3 Old Men weigh in and discuss the merits of this stat, as well as provide some quick-hit game summaries and previews.
