I want to talk about this crazy horror thriller, but it’s almost impossible to do without spoiling. Almost…let me try my best.

All the pieces were in place for a big box office weekend and instead it was old movies that took top spots. Why? Because what’s old is new again, and that trend will only grow in the coming years.

September is usually a dry month for movies, and this year especially we could’ve really used a bump from George Miller’s new fantasy story, or John Boyega in “Breaking.”

A social commentary embedded in a slick neo-noir thriller? That’s gonna hook me every time. But it’s the lead acting performance that really carries this indie darling.

Not only that, but people are turning out to see it in theaters! And they should, rather than staying in for Netflix’s latest Jane Austen adaptation starring Dakota Johnson.

Horror movies have their small, passionate fan base. But, I’d argue, the rest of us are horror fans too, we just don’t realize it. And it’s time to change that!
