This week on No Falling Word, we will continue with the second part of last week’s message in Acts 9, as we hear how a radically changed Saul responds to the call of Christ, and what Saul’s experience can teach us about faith, transformation and Christian conversion.

Saul made a name for himself by persecuting Christians, going from house to house and dragging believers off to prison. But on his way to Damascus to collect more names of Christian converts, he experiences a dramatic, life-changing encounter with Jesus. It takes courage to stand up for your convictions, and to speak the uncomfortable truth. This week on No Falling Word, with Liam Goligher, rather than defend himself in the face of death, Stephen, in Acts 7, continues to instruct his accusers on their history of disobedience. He lays out in detail how the Israelites have repeatedly rejected God time after time.

In tough times, it can be especially hard to keep our eyes fixed on God, to hold onto His promises, and remember His faithfulness to us. Liam Goligher continues the book of Acts. We’ll see Stephen continuing to answer his accusers by giving an historical, impassioned account of God’s enduring faithfulness to His people.

When faced with false accusations, beyond exposing the truth, we naturally want to defend our reputations. When faced with lies and false charges in Acts chapter 7, Stephen isn’t concerned about his own situation, but is only concerned about the message of the gospel, and God’s truth.

It can be difficult to take a stand for our faith, to speak up, even when we know we have truth on our side. Stephen was a man who boldly refused to back down from the truth. This week on No Falling Word, we continue with part 2 of our study in Acts chapter 6. Stephen has been performing miracles in the name of Jesus, and the message of the gospel continues to threaten the establishment. As a result, Stephen is soon brought before the Sanhedrin on false charges, yet is still willing to risk everything for the life-changing truth of the gospel.
