AVAST! Join Connor, Matt and Frank as they journey back to ye olde 2003 to discuss the original (and - let's be honest - only good) Pirates of the Caribbean film. Load the cannons...and the episode. And let the adventure begin.

The story follows pirate Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and blacksmith Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) as they rescue the kidnapped Elizabeth Swann (Kiera Knightley) from the crew of the Black Pearl, captained by the evil Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush). Barbossa's crew attempts to retrieve the final pieces of a hoard of Aztec gold to break the curse laid on them when they stole it. We chat the rocky seas that were swashbuckling movies of the 90s/00s as well as the iconic performance of Jack Sparrow (and what makes it not work the following four times he tries this).

Welcome to red, white and blue Braveheart! This July 4th, come celebrate America's birthday with us as we discuss 2000's epic of (barely) historical proportions!

The Patriot is a historical war film written by Robert Rodat, directed by Roland Emmerich and starring Mel Gibson, Chris Cooper, Heath Ledger and Jason Isaacs. The story takes place mainly in rural Berkeley County in South Carolina and depicts Benjamin Martin (Gibson), an American colonist opposed to going to war with Great Britain who, along with his adult son (Ledger), gets swept into the Revolutionary War when his home life is disrupted and one of his sons is murdered by a cruel British officer (Isaacs). Rodat has said Martin is a composite character based on four historical men: Andrew Pickens, Francis Marion, Daniel Morgan and Thomas Sumter.

Benjamin Martin: "Before this war is over I'm going to kill you."

Col. Tavington: "Why wait?"

Pitch Meeting Guy: "So the movie can happen!"

Well... Here we are again.

Our old hero Indiana Jones is being wheeled out of the old folks home for one last (?) adventure. We've been here before, and we've been hurt. But have the wounds from "Crystal Skull" healed enough to give love a shot again? The boys have gathered together to figure that out. Will Indy need a knee replacement. How's Indy's cholesterol these days? Is there a universe where a 5th Indiana Jones movie released 42 years after the original film came out, can be fresh, entertaining, and as exhilarating as the first? We'll figure it out together!

Professor Peter, Colonel Matt and Mr. Frank meet up to discuss 1985's Clue, a murder-mystery comedy decades before Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston tried to obliterate the genre. Listen in as they chat about the history of board game movies as well as what the rights of the game hold for future entries into the Clue-niverse.

Directed by Jonathan Lynn, co-written alongside John Landis, and produced by Debra Hill, it stars Eileen Brennan, Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Christopher Lloyd, Michael McKean, Martin Mull, Lesley Ann Warren, and Colleen Camp. That makes it one plus two plus two plus one.

It's mini-series time! Come with us on a journey as we dive into the series that was designed in a lab deep under London to appeal directly to one Matthew J. Conrad: "Sharpe". "Sharpe" was a TV show that ran from 1993 until 2008 for a grand total of 16 episodes. The hitch is that each episode is 2 hours long! So this is a 16 movie long series that the Brits called a "TV Show". TV makes no sense over there.

ANYWAY, we follow our hero Richard Sharpe (played by Sean Bean at his absolute swarthiest) as he makes his way through the ranks of the British Army during the Napoleonic Wars (like we said, designed in a lab for Matt Conrad).

The first up in our adventure is "Sharpe's Rifles", adapted from the novel of the same name. We meet Richard and the rest of the Chosen Men. They fight, they fight, and well... they also fight. Secrets are kept secret, French people get shot, Spanish women are seduced, and a Rothschild dresses up as a Methodist woman. It's a trip.

Join Matt and Connor as they sit down to discuss the first step of their great adventure together. After this, there are only 15 more to go!

We're diving deeper into our "No Bummers...." Series? Era? It certainly is going to last longer than a month. THE FUN CONTINUES UNTIL MORALE IMPROVES! Anyway, this week is Connor's pick, and we're going all the back to the good ole' days of 1997 with the Summer Classic, "Men In Black", the third movie in the Will Smith Superstar Trifecta. Often forgotten as just another summer action comedy, but "Men In Black" has become the prime example of "They Don't Make Them Like They Used To". Join us as we take this trip down memory lane, and then have those memories erased over and over again.

It's no bummers month! It's dark. It's cold. Connor's sick. March is actively trying to kill us, and the only way to survive is movies that bring us nothing but joy! As a result we are starting with a Frank/Matt pick with 1996's "The Birdcage". Hilarious from start to finish. Incredible performances from Robin Williams, Nathan Lane, Hank Azaria, Gene Hackman, and pod favorite Dianne Wiest!! How can we go wrong?!? Well Connor can, by only watching it once. Join us as we engage in our first pure joy, no bummers, only fun movies of... until we decide to try something more challenging. It may be a while. It's pretty grim out there friends....

Sometimes, a filmmaker is brave enough to ask the big questions. Questions like... "What if there was a giant alligator?" And some questions, like "What if there was a giant alligator?" have to be asked twice. Today we are investigating the second time a brave filmmaker dared to ask that question of himself, society, and all of us. "Alligator 2: The Mutation" is 1991's sequel(?) to the 1980 original "Alligator", and it has confounded Frank for, what seems to have been his entire life. Today, we're doing a deep dive on "Alligator 2", taking a brief detour to discuss the original, and perhaps the boys will finally have an answer to the age old question... "What if there was a giant alligator?"
