On this podcast, I had the privilege of interviewing Paulson! Chicago sports fan, an athlete in volleyball and soccer, a member at West End Community Church, and serves in the Young Adults ministry on Tuesday nights. Paulson and I connected through West End Young Adults and became close friends through playing intramural soccer and volleyball in Nashville Sport League, thanks to Reese, his dog!

Dad seminary and PHD programs for missions and Divinity Schools, India ministry for every Christian as a pastor one in every thousand to reach the country and process 

Dad in India running seminary and planting churches and in Chicago

Education was important as studies and from parents with brothers 

In between own world and faith passed down from parents 

Indian culture seeks honor and shame, and influence on family impact from others around pressures 

Disconnect from India and American culture; love Jesus most important 

Religious activity big devotion we really love God putting it on ourselves 

Having life all together and figured out doing good, the right things, then Jesus will keep loving me 

Story of God is not about us; it is more about God running after us out of his love. 

Receiving the love of God, I did not hide; I do not live that I am a hypocrite, desperately need Christ Jesus for this to change. 

What do you desire? Friendship? Relationship? 

Ask and be curious about these things and how you want to go about your life?

 The more you pray, the more you see God is changing you in prayer 

God has written a love story to you; wanting to hear God, you can already listen as he has written scripture

Pray and have full access to God and speak love back to him

In this episode, I had the pleasure of being joined by Pete Wolf. Pete is from Reading, PA, and we first connected at the Penn State IM Building in the fall of 2021. As his Young Life College leader at Penn State, I had the honor of leading a freshman Bible study that school year. During that same time, we also had the opportunity to co-lead a cabin at Summer’s Best Two Weeks. Pete is currently working as a Turfgrass Management intern with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

We serve a big God who meets us where we are at.

Incredible looks different for everyone  

God’s faithfulness when I do not see him for himself 

Feels yeah living but there is nothing propelling me, know of God but do not have a deep relationship and know that. 

Just show yourself because I actually want to know you and be in a relationship with you.

I need to spend time at the feet with Jesus, you see what you have been missing? Sitting at the Lord’s feet

I became friends with Tris August of 2022 through the Nashville Fellows program, a 9 month leadership and discipleship program for recent college graduates.

Done our things uniquely spiritually a part 

Year of marriage centered harder than expected 

Developed as an outsider open to different demoninations of church 

Fellows had to lead youth groups and value to pour into and show up to church 

Too young or too older yes I want that what all comes with following jesus 

Loved camp J.H. Northern California experienced a personal relationship with the LORD 

Why did we break up? Go and be away experience draw to Jesus specifcially 

Single press into a relationship with the LORD 

Marriage 

You don’t realize how you can loved someone until you have a child.., then realize that God loves him so much more than that! 

It brings us closer to each other and closer to the LORD as well 

You don’t realize how selfish you are until you are married; you don’t realize how selfish you are until you are married and have a kid

Emerson is already watching our habits; he is going to emulate us, how we treat other people, his future wife 

Learning to be patient with us being married for a year, a lot of time. 

Our day-to-day kind and hospitality of who you are around, woven into the conversation that you are around

Apprenticeship practicing and acting out your faith in the day-to-day

Trouble sharing not a radical coming to know Jesus moment 

Not a radical moment came to Jesus, Jesus still radically changed the way I view my life.  

Doing the prayer… did I do it right? 

Setup path all the way through high school

Outside of daily routine deciding which college to go to? 

Moved to college prioritized doing well in school hand and I wanted to do well

End of day did not feel satisfied in what should give satisfaction 

I could fill my day with fun activity after fun activity as soon as these activities were done.. Not having a sense of joy. 

Took me a bit to figure out… I never regretted prioritizing time with God or doing something to serve him or others.

Testimony- the story of the ways God has been and at work and his faithfulness

If you were to go home and your parents were to say they do not believe in God anymore… Would you believe in God?

If you were to die tonight, where would you go? Would you go to Heaven? (scale 1-10)

Not steps I took to be on the straight and narrow; God did it and continues to do it.  

God’s steady hand draws me close to him

Faithfulness and steadfast love, covenant

hesed love- refers to the kind of love that is both promised and owned

Do all these good things but with selfish motives

Appearance of servant temptation to perform

Treating God like a magic 8 ball more than a friend, pursuing an answer rather than pursuing God

God is at work all around you.

In this episode, I had the privilege to invite my good friend and brother Nate Martin. We met as the 10th Class of the Nashville Fellows Program, a 9-month Christian leadership program designed for recent undergraduates to integrate faith, work, and life!   

Terrified at the idea of going to hell, there are powers in those words. 

“Good Christian Kid” has convictions not to do drugs or party 

I was looking for something from the LORD because that was all that I could go to. 

Always his presence, never what he said. 

A person I could talk to, cry, and love me for my brokenness.

I felt worthless none of these ways worked. 

I cannot just live for myself, share the gospel with whoever, and go out boldly.

This weird sense of hope in the gospel is that everything will be good.

How do I die to myself daily for my bride? 

Accepting us when they just volunteered was not necessary. They went above and beyond in their generosity.  

See how the Lord works through other people  

Death was never in the original plan of creation.

This episode I had the honor to invite Abigail on the No Formula Needed Podcast! Abigail,  from the great state of Louisiana, soon to graduate from Penn State with degree in BBH, and sister in Christ.  I hope you enjoy listening to her journey!

Grew up going to Catholic mass with family on Sundays and Sunday school. 
Moved to Louisiana  and went to different denominations and respected them. 

What if the Lord isn't actually who he says he is? 
Respect people around you who have difference beliefs. 
Figure out freshman year- what do I actually believe? 

"You never know what's on the other side of you obedience. "

What does it mean for the Bible to be an immovable truth vs relative truth of the world?


Know Christ directly, spend time with him, commitments to us--- Lord let's hang!! 

Transition of identity in God that wherever He takes me I want to be there! 
Sing a new song, if I am a new song everyday how can I not praise you?!!

Peace with direction and  he will not fail why worry.

Do not settle for growth you have had already- go ask questions with the LORD and a healthy church!
