The current guesstimate of the suicide rate among veterans is 22 a day. Even if that’s wrong one way or the other, it’s appalling. The annual age-adjusted suicide rate in America is around 123 a day. Men died by suicide 3.53 times more than women. White males were 7 of 10 suicides in 2016, and finally ... the rate of suicide is highest in middle-aged white men.
