So, it's been almost two months since my last episode. It's been a difficult time, so I've taken some time off. But, now I'm back. Just a quick episode to say hello and revisit some old topics. I hope you are well. Thank you for listening.

In this episode, I discuss how, later in the recovery, I felt like I was unbreakable like Bruce Willis, or indestructible like Mr. Burns. I also analyze a scene from Menace II Society, in which Samuel L. Jackson demands money from a colleague. As you can imagine there was a lot of profanity to bleep. After taking some time off, I return with the first of a two-part episode about my continued recovery. On the 29th, it will have been a year. I address what the last month has been like with regards to the emotional recovery, and I discuss steps I've taken to stay social and feel fulfilled. I talk about various meetup groups I've joined (including trivia) and some of the part-time jobs which will hopefully begin in earnest this summer.

In this episode, I reflect on two quotations. One from the documentary film "Hoop Dreams," and the other from the television show "Parks and Rec." The physical healing from the aneurysm is beginning to taper off, but the emotional and mental healing is ongoing. Thank you for listening.

I return to the track in this episode and discuss my time at The Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racetracks in Hong Kong. I also examine betting theories my running partner Martin and I would use to construct our bets such as: vary your sources. There are many ships at the bottom of the ocean because they only followed their charts. Also, I reflect on the unluckiest person I've ever come into contact with.

I put horse racing on hold to take a trip down memory lane. While episodes 1 and 2 could be considered the macro view of the aneurysm (the broad strokes of the events as they chronologically happened) this episode takes more of a micro view. 

 

I look at the odds (something you should never tell Han Solo) and reflect on certain aspects of the event such as the location on the brain, as well as how accurate the game Life and Death 2: The Brain was with regards to completing the surgery for an aneurysm.

In this episode, which begins during the glorious Summer of 2000 and goes until September of 2010, I undertake a myriad of different jobs which include being a recruiter for software programmers, the office manager for a bus and truck theater company, a sell-side broker, and an options trader.
