On the ninth episode, we drink a fabulous and oh-so-tart summer beer called Atalanta Tart Plum Saison by Orpheus Brewing. We also read some poems from the The Girl Without Arms, which is named after a Grimms’ Fairy Tales Japanese story adaptation of a girl without arms. Then we spend some time learning about Brandon Shimoda’s heritage and one of his grandfathers, Midori Shimoda, who was forced into an internment camp for “suspicious” people with Japanese ancestry living in America in WWII (unjust bullshit).
