No Thank You, Please episodes

  • 10: Making Moves

It seems fitting that as we conclude Season One of No Thank You, Please, Carissa and Karishma find themselves at both metaphorical and physical crossroads. Tune in for our last episode of our first season -- and let us know what you hope to hear about in Season Two. Thank you for listening and for tolerating us, week after week.

  • 9: Did she quit again?

All jokes aside . . . did she? This week, for the first time ever, Karishma and Carissa record together, in-person. We talk more about our end-game goals as boss-ladies and creating a home for oneself. **TW: in this episode we do talk about toxic relationships and anxiety with food and diet culture.** That being said, wear a mask, avoid large crowds, and be kind to each other.

  • 8: Just a weird mood

A continuation of last week's episode, Karishma talks pantslessness and Carissa is sentimental about friendships. It's like a "Freaky Friday" episode, as the current state of the world has us all on tilt, and sometimes you just need to unload and laugh with a friend. We hope you join us this week as we talk more about adult-friendships, burning bridges, and living at home as a young professional.

  • 7: Your Twenties Might Suck

There is so much pressure for your second decade of living to be the most fruitful, carefree, exhilarating time of your life. . .so what happens if it isn't all it is chalked up to be? To mark Karishma's 25th birthday, we reflect on some of our internal battles with our twenties and debunk the myths of the Quarter Life Crisis. Either way, just know, you're doing you, and there is no right way to live your life.

  • 6: Impact Over Intention

This week, Karishma and Carissa talk about our experiences with DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) at work! There is no shortage of corporate responsibility in response to the Black Lives Matter movement and popular call for an end to systemic racism. We touch on moments of frustration and elation, acknowledging that even though we are similar in many respects, we have had wildly different experiences in our twenty-some years of living. Let us know how your place of employment is showing up (or not)! We are in this together.

  • 5: Are you there, Burnout? It's Us . . .

Is it burnout or is it stress? This week Karishma and Carissa talk about ways they try to manage stress and prioritize self-care to prevent burnout. The sources of stress and pressure range from work, family, COVID-19, anti-racist activism, and being in your twenties. One relies on Dance, the other, the perfect croissant. . . We are far from perfect (very, very, far because perfection is a construct [enter Carissa's rant here]), but know that you are not alone if you're struggling right now.

  • 4: Not the "what," but the "how

In Episode 4, we are all in baby! Meaning, Carissa is all in on finishing her bottle of wine. Recorded on a Monday night, instead of a leisurely Saturday morning, we acknowledge that we are out of our routines. We talk about what life looks like in the coming months, how there is no 'normal' that we will be going back to, and sustainable ways we can continue to show up for the Black community.

  • 2: Industry Ambiguity

Part two of our origin story! In this week's episode, Carissa is in the hot seat as she shares more about how she's gotten where she is. We talk about the pressure of choosing the "right" major in college, the fear of being boring, and ultimately,  why she left her first big-girl job for a start-up!

  • 1: The new "B word"

In our first official episode, we talk a bit more about why we started this podcast: our shared passion for being boss-ladies and artists (insert Carissa's audible groan *here*).  We cover what it's like to be closed off from a corporate community because we're artists, and vice versa. We commiserate together about how much we loathe the word 'balance', and discuss how Karishma is a drop-out of an Indian classical dance education.
