I liked being in Wardham again, but there wasn't quite enough story here

I've read quite a few of the Wardham series, and this is one of my least favorites. It seemed like there wasn't quite enough story to fill a whole book. Chase and Mari were both very much anti-relationship, but it didn't make a whole lot of sense. They both liked each other and neither was dating anyone else...their reluctance seemed too contrived.

Chase was a more likable character than Mari, he was pretty honest and tried to be open with her, but she was always so prickly. She'd run hot and cold at the weirdest times. To Mari's credit though, her reaction to the big crisis at the end wasn't what I expected, she was much more mature about it than I thought she would be.

I did like being back in Wardham again and seeing some of the supporting characters again.

sexy, fun romance with a yummy hockey player

Ms. York never disappoints. This was a great story. Somehow you get wrapped up in the character's lives and you just cannot put the book down until you have finished reading. This is the story of a hockey player that had his career ended when we was involved in an accident. He was at the peak of his career when it ended. That did a number on him as he suffered from depression and worked to get his body back to it's peak condition.

Then he started seeing his sister's friend and his local bartender with different eyes. She was too young for him so he hesitated to make a move. He really had nothing to offer her in his present condition. She has crushed on him a bit but he was a playboy with a long string of ex-lovers and girlfriends. She knew he wasn't serious about a relationship. These two are brought together under amusing circumstances and then things take a change. These two set the sheets on fire when they finally come together. Lots of SEXY scenes so if that is not for you, better skip this one. Frankly I was more than ready for them to get it on!!! It is a very good story, very entertaining and I definitely recommend it.

Fabulous Addition to the Wardham Series!

Continuing her sweet and sexy Wardham series this is the story of Chase and Mari. Chase is recovering from a car accident that has all but ended his hockey career. He's moved back home to Wardham for his physical therapy and to evaluate what to do now with his life, spending many hours at a local restaurant where Mari, a friend of his sisters is a waitress. In a pinch he helps her out with an amorous ex-boyfriend and wants her help in return to pretend to be his girlfriend, partly to get his family off his back and to provide him with a social companion for a charity appearance he had committed to as a hockey player.
