UPS has announced they will be laying off 20,000 employees and shuttering facilities across the country amid a decline in package volume from Amazon, it's largest customer. Elsewhere the US trade deficit just hit another record for March as American companies scrambled to buy up inventory ahead of tariffs. This will be a major drag on GDP in the first quarter.

The US Dollar Index (DXY) took a dive last night as the trade war continues to see dollar assets selling off with money headed back home to Japan and Europe driving those currencies higher. Gold is making yet another new all time high, currently above $3,400 and even bitcoin is strangely getting in on the action despite a general risk-off mood in markets this morning.
