Lauren gives the LoDown on all the new music we’re getting from rappers that don't mumble. J Cole dropped on 420, and Kanye’s dropping his 9th studio album in June along with Drake’s 6th- but since these are male rappers, nobody will create a “beef.” Kendrick didn’t drop a new album, but he did get a Pulitzer for the message he made in DAMN. Cole made a pretty powerful message in KOD too, so we must ask, do Drake albums have a strong message? Kanye’s music is full of statements, but his tweets are also important life lessons. We’re sure Teyana Taylor will show off her “black girl magic” in her new album, but why don’t male rappers show their love for sistas in their music? S/O to Wale #BlackGold.
