Noise and Smoke presents the poetry of Amiri Baraka. Being a symbol of black struggle, his historical emerging is presented. His connection with first to Islam, then to black nationalism and after his visit to Cuba and listening to Fidel Castro for a few hours one of his long speeches and then in the USA listening to Malcolm X, his involvement to Marxist Leninist ideology is presented. 

His poems are sampled: Against Bourgeois Art, Am-Trak, Class Struggle in Music. 

Frank Kofsky is cited. Martin Luther King’s speech at the funeral of 1963 Birmingham massacre is sampled and discussed rhythmically with the piece of Alabama of John Coltrane. 

Black Arts Center which was founded by Amiri Baraka is mentioned. Panel discussion of Cecil Taylor and Amiri Baraka with the white composers are displayed. Air and David Murray’s musical contribution to this great poet, activist and communist black artist is sampled as well.
