Nola Adé Takes Afro-Soul To The Tiny Desk Stage

Listen Later

NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest is currently on tour with its winner, Utah band Little Moon, and selected Nigerian-American Chicago artist Nola Adé as one of the opening acts for the sold out Chicago stop. Blending soulful harmonies with vibrant afro-beats, Nola describes her sound as “Afro-Soul.” Before heading to the Subterranean for the show on July 6, Adé opens up with Vocalo’s afternoons host Nudia Hernandez about the creation of her distinctive and fresh sound as well as delving more into her new EP, aptly titled ‘Royal.’
This conversation originally aired on Vocalo Radio 91.1 FM during Nudia in the Afternoons on Thursday, July 6. Keep up with Nola Adé on Instagram @nolaade.
