Nomad Notes

In Chapter 1, I learn of my blind spot and begin to think about blind spots in my life.

As we begin a new season of Nomad Notes, I get through cataract surgery only to discover that I have a blind spot. I forge on to rehearse and perform a concert with my band on May 8 at the San Francisco International Arts Festival, my first public show in 8 years.

Blind Spot begins a feature of 10 self-revelations, once in each chapter, as the blog and podcast series evolves into its 4th season and continues The Lisbon Project.

The year of Rebirthing is drawing to a close and the events of the past month show me that persistence pays off. A flurry of visitors and a mold crisis both benefit from spiritual strength, and the year of rehab and sitting-in yields a full evening club booking in Lisbon.

February 22, 2026, Lisbon, Portugal. One thing leads to another, as friends of friends help me to connect with more music, more language, more culture, and more of my purpose in life and in Lisbon.

A holiday season trip back to San Francisco helps me to get my purpose in life back up to the top of the list, and I am rewarded upon my return to Lisbon in January.

December 5, 2025, San Francisco, California. My crazy trail of challenges leads me from Bucharest to Naples, to Lisbon and back to San Francisco, leading me to conclude that “it’s always something!”

October 10, 2025, Sinaia, Romania. I learn a lot while on location in the Carpathian Mountains of Romania with the shoot of a feature film.

September 15, 2025, Bucharest, Romania. I settle in to my job and my life at the moment in Bucharest, Romania, learning more as I go. A meeting with someone I haven’t seen for 20 years helps me to feel like my true self.

August 24, 2025, Bucharest, Romania. I had been chanting for prosperity, health and safety, and there’s nothing like a 2-month job to help out with prosperity, so I took the interview and got the job on a film in Romania.
