If you are involved in the New Age Movement, honestly, I think there's a good chance we'd hit it off. I realize the worldview of each "New Ager" is a little different, but in general, here's what I often admire in the souls within your circle: You desire a better world, and I love that. You desire to be a good person. How beautiful! You desire to develop a spiritual view of life, and that’s admirable since we are indeed all souls clothed in bodies.  

As we live Nomadically, we spent some time in Sedona. While there, we overheard or engaged in conversations more than once among New Agers who are questioning the movement and reexamining what they expected in terms of deep peace, mental health, spiritual healing, and general wellness, that they have not found within this worldview. 

My heart goes out to these hungry souls, so while I’ve nothing personally to gain for what I'll share in this podcast, at least I'll know that I’ve done what I can to help your soul find the "bread" you’ve been looking for. As someone has once said “We are all mere beggars showing other beggars where to find bread” and that’s exactly what this podcast is about today: A labor of love dedicated to the hungry souls who have been deceived, and pulled away from the one true God, by the New Age Movement.

During the busy year Mark and Cindy were preparing to live nomadically, on Sunday afternoons, Mark would carve a couple of hours out of his day to drive into Portland, Oregon to join in on a Meet-up with a diverse group of individuals at Portland State University to discuss Jordan Peterson and his life-changing book 12 Rules For Life: An Antidote to Chaos. The conversations were both intense and fascinating, and the book itself remains a favorite that Mark often recommends, especially to young people just beginning to build their lives.   

In this podcast, Mark and Cindy discuss the book from their personal Christian perspectives and what the scriptures (which are the ultimate antidote to chaos) say on some of the concepts Peterson discusses.

“...in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.” (2 Corinthians 2:11)

Wouldn’t it be an incredible find if you looked down on the ground and there was Satan’s playbook? What if you picked it up, looked inside, and saw what kind of luring temptations he had in store for you this week, what slow series of events this ultimate enemy was going to try to use against you to weaken you one little step at a time- and how he was going to twist your strengths into vices.

What if you could eavesdrop on his diabolical conversations regarding just how he was planning to tear down what you have worked so long to build in your relationship with your children, by planting subtle misunderstandings and miscommunications he can use against you? In 1942 brilliant English author CS Lewis, wrote The Screwtape Letters, a book that cannot help but change the way you view your adversary. In this fictional story, Screwtape, an experienced tempter, writes a series of thirty-one short letters to his nephew Wormwood. Wormwood is a novice in securing damnation for the soul, or as this book calls the soul a “patient”, assigned to him. His Uncle Screwtape writes these letters to “enlighten” him in all the best “tools of the trade”.

Because these schemes are 100% real, no work of fiction will sober your spirit in the battle for your salvation, and the salvation of those within your sphere of influence, than this little paperback.

Podcasters Adam & David Desloge host a unique, laidback, conversational style podcast they call "Jabberwocky" where they discuss "a fountain of peculiarity that ranges from laser tag to Bigfoot." David also now has a new movie review podcast he is hosting alongside best friends Silas and Caleb called "No Sevens". 

Adam asked to interview us for his podcast shortly after we'd announced our plans to sell most of our possessions to live nomadically. So on 1.1.2020 we piled into the Fresh Prince and they kindly initiated us newbies into the world of podcasting, and the rest is history.
