Veteran Iowa political observers talk about the national political scene, bringing an Iowa perspective to the issues folks in the heartland are talking about, including abortion, book bans, and eminent domain.

So, why listen to another @#$@% political podcast from a handful of Iowans?

First, this episode was moderated by Kathie Obradovich, a long-time political reporter and observer, who is one of those ‘cat ladies’ disparaged by Donald Trump’s running mate, J.D. Vance. She is also the editor-in-chief of Iowa Capital Dispatch, a tough, independent, local digital investigative news platform.

When Kamala Harris was running for president, Robert Leonard followed her campaign events and talked about her reception in towns like Indianola.

Rekha Basu also interviewed Harris during her time in Iowa, and talked about an interview with her during that pre-caucus period. They discussed ethnicity issues, which some today are trying to use to attack the Democratic presidential nominee.

Each panelist offered a perspective on the national race as it impacts Iowa.

I have had serious questions whether Trump wouldn't actually win Scott County. Scott County has generally gone Democratic when it comes to a presidential race. But I think with Harris at the top of the ticket, all those expectations are scrambled.
