When I see a meeting scheduled for an organization, I wonder what type of meeting will it be. Nonprofits are good at scheduling meetings and not getting anywhere. And then committees are created for more meeting times. This is a very painful moment when there aren't true takeaways and action items being done in these meetings.
I even think that about my own board meetings. Do my board members feel in pain because it's a meeting that can truly be done via email? As I still learn how to make my meetings more effective and productive, I have learned to be more responsive and respectful of their time. But there isn't a "Nonprofit Boards of Do's and Don'ts" at the local Barnes and Noble.
