In this episode, I’m joined by my fellow graduate of the University of Leicester, Haider Maqsood, who studied Politics and International Relations. We had an in-depth conversation about an issue that has unfortunately been making headlines in recent months and years – Islamophobia.
A rise in hate crimes and negative sentiment towards Muslims not just in the UK but around the world has many wondering: why is Islamophobia so prevalent in society, and what is being done to make progress?
Haider has some fascinating insights and analysis which I’m sure you’ll find highly engaging and thought provoking.
Towards the end of the episode, I wanted to tap into Haider’s keen interest in international relations, so we also discussed the G7 Summit that took place in Cornwall back in June. Is America really back on the world stage? How will the West deal with China moving forward and can the world really unite to tackle climate change? You’ll definitely want to stay tuned for that conversation.
But first, we began the episode by discussing our thoughts on blended learning at university. Obviously, we have had an incredibly difficult year of studying like so many students but now we’re on the other side of that, are there things from the virtual world that could stay in the future?
