Norman Turkington – Consecration (35 min)

Listen Later

Norman Turkington (1926-2008) grew up in a Christian family in Northern Ireland. Saved at the age of 18, he was baptised and received into the assembly in Lurgan Gospel Hall. Mr Turkington was a cabinet maker by trade, and early in his Christian life he ploughed his energy into gospel work. His brother Mr Joe Turkington went to Venezuela as a missionary. For a good number of years, Norman sat under the Bible teaching and the godly influence of Mr Edmund Allen and Mr Albert McShane and developed into an able Bible teacher and gospel preacher. Married in 1953 to Esther Lilburn, the Turkingtons together served the Lord faithfully, full-time from 1966. Norman preached with Albert McShane for many years, and also with Mr Sam Ferguson, taking a total 127 series of gospel meetings in his lifetime. The Lord blessed his labours with souls saved and the work of the Lord advanced, especially in his homeland of Northern Ireland. In this recording Mr Turkington preaches from Leviticus Ch 8 on the subject of consecration to the Lord, its purpose, order and duration. (Recorded at Lurgan Gospel Hall conference, Oct 1984)
