ADVENT: A Season of Silence
Many of us today are strangers to silence. We assume that silence is something awkward, something to avoid. Something to fear.
And yet, silence as described by the Bible is often transformative. Silence invites us deeper within ourselves and deeper in our connection with God. Silence offers new perspectives and renewed hopes.
Advent, the time when we prepare for Christmas, is designed to be a season of silence, a time when we slow down, return to things that matter, open ourselves to others and to God. It is a time when we get ready for God's new way in this world which comes in the birth of Jesus.
Join us this Sunday, the first Sunday of Advent, as we re-discover the power of silence.
